Dear diary, August 13, 07

Not last night but the night before I spent the night at my friend Erica’s house. My friend Katie also spent the night at her house. We had a lot of fun! We watched TV mostly and also talked about school because it was two nights untill school started. I stayed up late but got up early so it wasn’t that bad. Last night when I went to bed I was tired but I could not fall asleep! I guess it was because I was so nervous for school the next day. I fell asleep after midnight! Which is really bad because I had to get up at 4:30! Oh my goodness that is early. So I only got about four and a half hours of sleep! Yikes. I got up and got ready really fast because I already had my clothes, make-up, and school stuff picked out. I wore my plaid shorts, and this white and blue shirt. I got both of them at Anchor Blue. And some flip flops that I got at Aeropostale. I am really happy that I wore that today because I looked really good! Ha-ha not to brag! So as I was waiting for my mom I just watched some music videos on TV downstairs. My mother dropped me off at my Nana’s house and I went in and started talking to my nana about school and how my sister just painted her room, purple. I am excited that I get to see my Nana everyday in the morning. She gave me a key so I could let my self in and to lock the doors after I leave. Then I ate some cantaloupe for breakfast I felt full like I couldn’t eat another bite of cantaloupe. But because cantaloupe is just water I wasn’t full for long and I was hungry by second hour. So I left my Nana’s house and started walking to the school, I got there and there and walked right though the office to get to my A’ hour. But my teacher wasn’t there so I went to my locker and put my backpack away. Then I thought my teacher would be there by then but he wasn’t. so I started walking around and I saw my friend Baily. So I started talking to her in the hallway. But a world geography teacher walked up to us and asked where we were supposed to be and I said I was waiting for A’ hour to start and so was Baily. I mean me had about 10 minutes so then I had to wait outside and then my A’ hour teacher let us in the classroom. A’ hour went by really fast. He just explained what we will be doing in his class and how he grades and stuff like that. I ended up having a full A’ hour, I didn’t think that many people took A’ hour. I knew some people from that class though so that is good. Then I went to first hour and that was really boring. My first hour is band and for the first time since I have been playing band I am in the back row. I don’t like it at all. I sit next to an eighth grader and this girl that is kind of shy. So I have no one to talk to. I know my parents are happy about that because in seventh grade band I talked a lot but I still want to sit by someone I will talk to. Well band went by very slowly. But afterwards I was confused because it was my third class but only second hour. I went to my third hour class and when I was in there I was greeting people and looking at their schedule and I realized when I looked at my friend Raeleen’s schedule, I said “You are in the wrong class.” and then I was so nervous that I actually went to the wrong class that I just ran out the classroom! I was so humiliated! Everyone in that class was looking at me. So I ran to my real second hour which is Spanish 2. That class went by pretty fast, I think my teacher looks nice and fun but at the same time tough. She remembered me from orientation. I was starving by now and my tummy was growling and saying FEED ME! Ha-ha. But I had one more class before I could go to lunch. So I went to my third hour that I ran out of. I was nervous that the teacher would recognize me from the previous hour by running out of his class, but if he did he didn’t say anything so I am grateful. We played a few games in that class, we played like a brain quiz and if you got it right he gave

you a jolly rancher, and then we played hangman. He said that at the end of class he plays those games sometimes. I have him for home room so we have to read for 25 minutes in his class but he said he added 10 minutes to reading. I wasn’t sure what he meant by that but I guess he takes time out of his class to give us extra time to read. That seam’s weird to me because teachers usually rush you to putting your books away to get to teaching us right away. Even though I don’t like or care for reading I would rather read then have to do science. So that is okay with me. Then I finally got to go to lunch! Good, I was so hungry. I bought my lunch today but I think I am going to pack it in the future just because I am so sick of the cafeteria food. It is just old and I don’t want to eat it anymore. I didn’t have fun at lunch and that is supposed to be the best part of school. I didn’t have fun because my friend Erica asked if I want ed to sit outside because the cafeteria was packed with people. But I didn’t want to because everyone was inside and I wanted to sit with everyone. But she said lets just go sit outside, so we did but it was so boring. She just wanted to go sit with this girl Harlie. I am friends with Harlie but she is kind of annoying and she cusses a lot and so it wasn’t fun sitting there. But tomorrow I am going to sit somewhere else no matter what! Fourth hour was next and I walked with my friend Yolanda to that. We sat down and were just talking and then my fourth hour weight training teacher came out and told us to go to the gym. So we did. She took attendence and my friend Yolanda told the teacher to call her Lupe. I thought that was so hilarious! I couldn’t stop laughing! We started calling her that and then the teacher to call her that! I don’t know why she want to go by Lupe. She hasn’t before but it is her middle name. That was the highlight of my day! So then it was time for fifth hour. My fifth hour is English 9. I have this teacher that goes out in the eighth grade hallway in the morning to collect gum from students who are chewing it. Well she seams just okay. Well that class passed on by so on my way to algebra. I have the same teacher I had last year. She is okay but kind of mean and doesn’t nag the kids to get there assignments in on time. And I kind of need that for motivation. But that class we already had homework! 27 problems on basically variables and breaking down problems. That class is going to be a good one I can tell because as soon as I got home I did all my homework. I got everything signed and my math finished. And since I know that teacher I know that we get homework every single night! My mom says that no TV till homework is completely finished. But that is what she said last year and it didn’t work, but I am going to make a personal goal to not watch TV untill homework is finished. Well that was my day! I am glad it went so well. I was really nervous this morning, my stomach was stuffed packed with butterflies! It was crazy! And now I don’t even know why I was so scared to go. I had fun today.

Dear diary, August 11, 07

Lately I have been hanging out with my friends a lot. It has been really fun. All summer I didn’t do very much with my friends so I am making it up this last few days that I have un tell school starts. I hung out with my neighbors John, Cody, and Sonia a couple of times. Even John and Cody came over to play pool at my house. They are really funny, especially John! He is hilarious. Then yesterday I spent the night at my friend Erica’s house. We didn’t do very much. Just talk a little bit, watch TV, and play with her two dogs Wilber and Dora. I had fun though. I always have fun being at a friends house. It is just nice getting out of the house and just hanging out. Well I am spending the night at her house again tonight. Except this time mine and Erica’s friend, Katie, is also spending the night. I am so excited! I haven’t seen Katie all summer and the last time we had a Katie, Erica and Tayler/me sleepover was at my house almost a year ago. Tonight is going to be really fun. As much fun as it would be to stay up all night, we can’t because school is ONE DAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! Well a day and a half. Yesterday I also went to orientation with Erica. We picked her up and took her there because she lives about four houses away from me. So I went there and met my 2^nd hour teacher. Which is my Spanish 2 teacher. She said that she gives a lot of home work but that we speak a lot of Spanish in class. So I don’t know if that is a good thing. I also found all my classes, but I got a map just in case. Because the last thing I want to do is get last on the first day of school because I am the oldest in the school and the oldest in the school should know where their classes are. I got this really mean teacher for English. Well I think she is mean because when I was in 8^th she walked around the 8^th grade hallway with a bucket, finding kids with gum in there mouth. Because we aren’t supposed to have gum in school but people chew it before school and some during. But I think she can wait to let the people get rid of it and then catch people who are in her classroom. If I was a principle at a school I wouldn’t care if kids chewed gum in class. As long as they didn’t take it out of there mouth unless they were throwing it away, or they didn’t put it on the school property. But some kids are rude and they would probably put gum all over the place just because they could. Just to get back at a mean teacher or something. Some kids will sink that low to doing something like that just because they are angry. Well I am excited for tonight!

Dear diary, August 8^th, 07

Today I woke up early! Well kind of early. 10:30. It was earlier than I have been getting up and its good because school is coming in four days. Only four days. And I still have no classes with anyone. I asked a lot of my friends what their schedule was and I don’t have a single class with anyone so far. We went out around three o’clock to get manicures and pedicures. My mother dropped me and my sister at a nail salon I have never been to before. I usually go to this place that does nail really cheap and the people are really nice. Every time I go there they always recognize us and ask us how we are doing. But they didn’t speak very good English, and it was difficult to understand them. So it wasn’t the same as going to this new place, they didn’t ask how I was doing because they didn’t know me. But they spoke English so that I could understand them. It was awkward because I got a guy to do my manicure and pedicure and I hadn’t realized it when I walked in but I hadn’t shaved in awhile so I felt bad for the guy that had to touch my prickly, stubby legs. It felt really nice, I like when they give you a massage on your whole leg. Then I had him to do my manicure and he messed up when he started to put the flower on. He did a different finger on each hand. He did my ring finger on my right hand and then put the flower on my middle finger on my left hand. So than I got two flowers for free! He put another flower on each hand to make them even. I am trying not to bite my nails this summer. I have bitten my nails for as long as I can remember and it is really time to stop. So it was also kind of embarrassing when he was doing my finger nails because some of my nail were longer than others. Some were longer than others because I bit off two of my nails and part of another one. That sounds so gross when I say it. that’s why I have to stop biting my nails. My sister only got acrylics on her finger nails. But two weeks earlier she had a manicure and pedicure at that place. After we were done we called my mom to come pick us up so that we could go get our hair cut. My sister got an A line cut. That is where it is shorter in the back and longer in the front. I just got a trim and a little more layers and my bangs cut. It looks pretty good but I don’t think it looks any different than it did before I got it cut except a little shorter. Well that is pretty much what I did today.

Dear diary, August 7^th, 07

Today was so much fun! When I got up, my whole family decided to go swimming in our new pool. We were playing with little footballs for a while and joking around. Then while my mom tanned a little bit, my dad, my sister, and I played a similar basketball game. I say similar because it wasn’t really basketball it was skipping the footballs into a noodle. Then we used my mom as she tanned in a game, we had to skip the footballs over her! That didn’t last long because I kept hitting her. We talked a about how exciting it is to finally have a pool. Then I collected all the diving toys at the bottom of the pool and then my dad threw them all back so we had to get them again. When I was trying to get a tan on this thing that looks like a bed that floats my dad would push me around the pool. And one time I rammed into my moms floating device. And we kept splashing each other and we played a game of volleyball. And my sister hit me in the head with a beach ball. But it was still really fun! It was so awesome just being in there. It was the first time I had gotten in to actually swim, the other times was either to clean it or to set it up. Only 6 more days till school! I am so unhappy I have asked almost everyone what their schedule is, and I don’t have one class with any body. I am so nervous because I want classes with my friends and so far I don’t know my teachers or any body in my classes. Friday is orientation so maybe I will find some one in my class. Today is Tuesday so I had my clarinet lesson. And I got two new books while I was there. I got a book with all old rock songs. And a book with TV theme songs. They seem really cool. After my clarinet lesson teacher’s partner died, they had to replace the piano and voice teacher. I just found out this week that they replaced Dory (the piano/voice teacher) with a women named Paula. Well that was my day. Love,

Dear diary, August 6^th, 07

Today me and my mom went school shopping. I went to Khols first and got some socks, two shirts and two under shirts there. Then we went to target and I got a pair of earrings there. Then we went to the Fiesta mall and I got a bunch of clothes. I got some plad shorts and a shirt at Anchor Blue. Two pairs of flip flops at American Eagle. A pair of flip flops at Aeropostale and some t-shirts. And than we went to Superstition mall and I got a jacket and another shirt at Aeropostale. Then I got a pair of jeans at American Eagle, and they gave me an American Eagle All Access Pass. The all access pass is like a card that every time you shop at American Eagle you earn credits and if you get a lot of credits they send you a prize. It sounds pretty cool. I am going to shop there a lot now. Well that is pretty much what I got. I also just got some school supplies and that’s it. It was a good day. I had a lot of fun. Well that was my day. Love,

Dear diary, August 5^th, 07

Today my Dad stayed home just because he didn’t feel like going to work today. So as soon as I got up me and him went to the pool store and got a filter so we could finally finish cleaning the pool. We went out to the pool and started cleaning it, and it was really picking up all the dirt on the bottom. Than we had to clean the filter a few times but we made a lot of progress today on cleaning it. Then my mom and I went to the grocery store to get stuff for a BBQ. We got steaks, corn, and garlic bread. But we also had home made French fries. It was really good. I am happy because lately we have been eating dinner as a family. We used to each make our own dinner and eat by ourselves, or my mom would make something and we would just split up to eat it. Plus my dad works nights so he usually can’t eat with us. But lately we have been good and eating together. It is really nice. So I had a good day, I worked with my Dad cleaning the pool, I went to the store with my mom, I had a really delicious dinner with my family, and I am getting to bed at a decent hour. Tomorrow I am going school shopping with my mother and we are going to go to breakfast! I can’t wait I am so excited to go shopping! Well that was my day! Love,

Dear diary,   August 3, 07

Yesterday I spent the night at my friend Erica’s house. I had a lot of fun. We talked and played the game of life. We stayed up all night! Till 5 am. It was fun I am super serious that I have to start going to bed early before school. Monday me and my mom are going school shopping. I am excited. I didn’t relize it before but I have to get shoes. I have some shoes but not very many. So I need shoes. I also want to get clothes and of course school supplies. I also have to get a haircut and get my nails done. I got my schedule for my classes in the mail yesterday also. I am not happy with it yet. I don’t have any classes with my friends yet. But I like how they are doing the lunches this year, they are doing it by grade. So all the 7^th graders have one lunch, all the 8^th graders have lunch together, and all the 9^th graders have lunch together for lunch. I am takin weight training this year and I am worried that we will have to do a lot of running. I hope not but my friend says they had to run a lot when she had wieght training. I am also taking Spanish 2 as one of my electives. This is my second year of Spanish and I hope to do really well in Spanish 2. My Spanish teacher this year I have met her a couple of times she seems really nice, but she has these Spanish days where you can only speak Spanish or she acts like she can’t understand you. That’s what I am worried about because what if I can’t remember how to say bathroom in Spanish so I wont be able to go. This year me and my friend Erica are really going to focus on our studies. I hope that we have classes together but she hasn’t gotten her schedule yet. I went in my old yearbook to see my new teachers and I have seen them around campus but I don’t know who they are, I hope they are nice. My math teacher this year is the math teacher I had last year. Ohhhh she was okay. But I always thought she was really strict. But that’s okay, she wasn’t completely mean. I just wanted a different teacher, that’s the best part about starting a new school year, is getting rid mean teachers and hopefully get new nice ones. I think I know where all my classes are but I am still going to go to orrientation because I wanna see everybody and I have to find out how I am going to get in the buiding for A’ hour. This year I am the top dog of the school! I am a 9^th grader so that mean the biggest and oldest in the school! Ha-ha. I am pretty excited now, I wasn’t before because since I am finally in high school I have to work extra hard to get a scholarship to collage. But now it is exciting to finally be going back.well that was day. Love,Tayler!

Dear diary, August 2,07

Today me and my dad started cleaning the pool as soon as I got up. We went out there and just started sucking up all the dirt that was in there. It was a good start but there is still a ton of dirt and sand in there. It got in there when the side collapsed. I wasn’t here when it collapsed so I didn’t see it, but my dad told me what happened they were setting it up and the side caved in and poured a ton of dirt in there. Your dogs keep drinking out of it like it is a giant water dish. And that could cause algae but as long as we have chlorine in the pool, it should not have algae in it. My dad picked up my dog Sammy and put her in there today while we were in there. She didn’t seem to like it so she wasn’t in there for long. All our dogs don’t care for water except Hershe, she is a chocolate lab, she would have liked to get in the pool. The only thing is that she is really fat so it would be to much exercise for her. I slept so much today. I went upstairs to go to bed at 11 pm but I didn’t fall asleep until about 3 am. And I slept till 2 in the afternoon. But I set my alarm for 10 am and woke up at 9 am and could have gotten up than but I didn’t want to so I went back to sleep till 2! Its crazy. I need to start getting up earlier seriously because school is right around the corner. I am taking A’ hour first semester too. But my mom goes to work at 5:30 in the morning so she has to drop me off at my Nana’s house at 5:30 in the MORNING!!!! So I have to be ready to go at 5:30 in the MORNING!!!! Because I cant walk there because we live too far from the school! So I have to get up early! Well that was my day. Love,Tayler!

Dear diary, August 1, 07

Today me and my dad went out as soon as we got up. We went and got gas than we went to KFC and ate lunch which was more like breakfast, lunch, and dinner because that is all we have really eaten today. Then we went to the hardware store to get some things for our pool. As we were driving to the hardware store though my dad noticed that our favorite pizza joint was closed. Hall Of Fame Pizza. That place had really good crust on the pizza. Plus the man who owned it was really nice. The first time we went there my mom and dad forgot to bring there money and they said hold the pizzas we will be right back, but the owner said just take the pizzas and then come back to pay. That was surprising because he trusted complete strangers so of course we went back and paid. I hope that they just changed locations because people that nice don’t deserve to go out of business. Or maybe he made enough money out of that restaurant that he could retire. Then we went outside to put the stuff together on the pool. We had to clean the pool because it has some dirt in it. So we were out there all day until it started raining and we had to get out just in case it started lighting. I liked spending all day with him it has been awhile since I have gotten to. So it was a nice day except for finding out that Hall Of Fame Pizza is closed, that stinks. It is really great having a big pool, I can’t wait to be swimming in it. But I won’t be able to swim in it for long because it is getting close to winter. Well that was my day. Love,Tayler!
