Dear diary, December 8, 2007
I have decided to try out for the softball team at my school! My friend first asked me to with her but now I really want to because I want to make the team. I have always liked playing baseball but I never played softball or baseball on a team or anything. I just played with some neighborhood kids and just for fun. I thought I was good but sometimes we think we are good at things and than we really are kind of bad. I hope this isn’t one of those times. There are thirty-five girls trying out but only fourteen make the team. So I have to work extremely hard to even get close to making it. When I first told my family they all said “If there is anything I can do to help, let me know.” that made me feel really good to know everyone was there to help me and support me. On my dad’s day off we went to the store and he bought me some softballs, a bat, and a glove to practice with. We are going to practice today or tomorrow. I am also going to go to a softball camp over the winter break and that cost eighty dollars and I think Jessica’s dad is going to coach Jessica, Hailey and myself because he wants Jessica to make the team so bad that he is going to buy her a brand new car if she makes it. The first cuts in softball are February 6, 2008 and the final cuts are February 8, 2007 and my birthday is February 7. That would be a great birthday gift if I made the team but it would be an awful birthday gift if I don’t make it. I am nervous and excited. There a lot of girls trying out that actually play on a team and have experience but there are also other girls that haven’t played before just like me. So if I work hard for the next two months I just might make it! I want to be apart of a sport at my school and be apart of a team. I think that would be fun. But that means I have to take another Ahour next semester. If I make the team I really wont mind taking another Ahour but if I don’t make the team I will be really upset taking another Ahour. Before I thought about trying out for softball I was looking forward to getting rid of my Ahour I have this semester because I hardly get any sleep and I wanted to ride the bus in the morning with my friends. I just switched buses because my old bus driver was mean and a jerk. But now I really like everyone on my bus. Plus I will have to take a P.E class that I won’t even get credit for. I wont get credit for it because you can only get credit for half a credit or P.E in ninth grade because they want you to get exercise in the three years that you are at the high school. Without A Paddle is an adventuress, funny and just plain good movie. It is about four best friends Dan (Seth Green), Jerry (Matthew Lillard), Tom (Dax Shepard) and Billy (Anthony Starr). They grew up together and did everything together including building a tree house and making a pack to find the treasure of D.B. Cooper. D.B. Cooper or Dan Cooper was a airplane hijacker whom after receiving a ransom of $200,000 jumped out of a plane somewhere over the Cascade Mountains. The money and his body was never found. After they all graduated from high school they got separated. Dan became a doctor, Jerry had a job that he hated, Tom was a rebel that lied about everything he does and Billy did many things and went many places. Billy tried to get them all together to find D.B. and the loot but they were all wrapped up in there lives and Billy wouldn’t do it unless they were all together. They finally got together but not for a friendly visit but for Billy’s funeral. After the funeral Dan, Jerry, and Tom go to the tree house they built when they were little and find a map and a compass to where D.B.’s treasure is. They find out that Billy actually pin pointed where D.B. should be. Tom and Jerry want to go find the treasure for Billy but being afraid of almost everything Dan doesn’t want to go. They finally convince doctor Dan to come and they are on there way to Spirit river. There first night camping out Tom starts fishing with a flash light. Jerry and Dan are laughing until a bear came up behind Tom. They all start running but Dan falls and gets picked up by and carried away by the bear. Dan escapes but is convinced that they should end the trip. But once again Tom and Jerry convince him to carry on. They get back into the canoe and start going to go down the river but they run into more trouble by falling down a hundred foot water fall. They hike to try to find some people but what they find is two weed farmers and a big weed plants. They get away but the two weed farmers have to find them to save their butts from getting thrown into jail. The boys also accouter many other things that will help them later while trying to save their own lives from getting tracked down by two scary weed weirdoes in the middle of the forest. I like this movie because it is really funny. It is definitely in my top ten movies. If you haven’t seen it yet than you are really missing out. It makes me laugh every time I watch it and I have seen it enough times to know what is going to happen next. I give Without A Paddle five stars!

Oh my goodness! My dad thinks this is so gross and I agree but I think it is more funny than it is gross. I can’t imagine what kind of crazy bird you have to be to stick your beak up a sheep’s nose. I feel bad for the sheep too because I bet that hurts. That beak can be pretty sharp. Ha-ha.

Ne-Yo is so awesome! He is also one of my favorites. I fell in love with his song “So Sick” it was so cute so I bought his c.d. and for a long time my favorite song was “When You’re Mad” that was on his first c.d. called In My Own Words. But a couple of months ago he came out with a new c.d. called Because of You. I haven’t gotten a chance to buy his new c.d. but I have bought one song off of it. The most popular song on the c.d. “Because of You.” Ne-Yo’s first c.d. was R&B and his second c.d. was R&B/ soul but he is more like a rapper to me. He is so popular right because he is so great. I really like the song he did with Rihanna called “Hate that I Love You” it is so cute. I also like the song he did with Fabulous called “Make Me Better” he even wrote some songs for Rihanna. He can rap and sing R&B and he writes really good songs. He has the whole package. I like all the hats he wears too. Like I said I am getting into things I have never heard before or way different than what I usually listen to and Ne-Yo has a lot of that on his first c.d. I bet he has it on his second c.d. I just don’t know because I have only heard a few songs from it.

One of my favorite bands right now is The Jonas Brothers. They are so awesome and so cute! My favorite is Nick because he can sing and play guitar and he is the cutest one! Plus he is my age. Well there are three Jonas Brothers in the band but they also have a little brother that isn’t in the band….yet. The oldest one is Kevin, the middle one is Joe, and the youngest in the band is Nick! Joe does most of the singing but Nick sings a lot too. Kevin doesn’t really sing but he plays guitar really well. I first saw them on Disney Channel. They did a song for “Meet the Robinsons” the movie. My favorite song and video by them is S.O.S. it is really good. I don’t own it yet because I want the video and Itunes doesn’t have it to buy yet. But as soon as they do I am going to buy that video. My second favorite song by them is Year 3000, that is the first song I bought from them. That song just makes you happy. I also love the song Hold On. I think they are going to be really big. I mean they are already really big but mostly just to kids. They will be way better and way bigger when they get older. The Jonas Brothers sing pop but I think it is a mix between rock and pop. I am starting to get into songs that sound different than anything I have ever heard before and the Jonas Brothers have that. They also starred in Hannah Montana so that just proves that they can act too. I watched the Hannah Montana and they did pretty good. They are better than your average band because they play guitar, they sing, they act, and there are three of them! That’s what I am talking about!
