“Take You There” by Sean Kingston is an excellent song. My mom actually got me to like even though she doesn’t like it. She doesn’t like it because she doesn’t like the lyrics. Where it says “Take you to the slums, where the killers get hung.” who wants to go to the slums where killers get hung? Ha-ha. I don’t know but Sean Kingston also says “As long as you’re with me Baby you’ll be alright.” so he will take care her there and take care of her. I guess that is a good thing. I love Sean Kingston’s voice in all his songs. But in “Take You There” he says he is from Jamaica. I don’t know if that is true but that would be cool since his last name is Kingston and Jamaica’s capital is Kingston. He has a very unique voice and a great accent! He almost sounds like Akon but he has a different beat to his music so you can tell if it is Akon or Sean Kingston. Well over all I really like this song.

“If We Were a Movie” by Hannah Montana is such a cute song. It is about how perfect their life would be if they were a movie. I love it because in most movies everything is perfect or they end up perfect at the end. It says “ If we were a movie, you’d be the right guy and I’d be the best friend” that is so true. It just has great lyrics and it goes well with the rhythm and beat. I don’t think Hannah Montana/ Miley Cyrus has anything special about her voice yet. As she gets older I think she might have something unique about her voice but she sure does have good songs! She takes after her Dad (Billy Ray Cyrus) and shows it off in this song. I like her singing. I like it because I think a lot of people wish there life was like a movie and everything would be perfect. Its just adorable.

My Chemical Romance isn’t a band I usually a band I listen to but once in a while I will here a song by them and I usually like it. My favorite song by My Chemical Romance is a song called “Teenagers”. it is about school shootings. It isn’t the lyrics that I like but how Gerard Way pronounces every single word and how he moves in the video. I don’t really like that it is about school shootings, but it happens and there really is a song for everything. I really love this song. I also love the guitar solo by Ray Toro, it is excellent. One of the best guitar solos I have ever heard. over all I like this song because it is sang well and I like its punk/ alternative taste to it. They are a punk band but this song is alternative

“Tattoo” by latest American idol winner Jordin Sparks is a wonderful song. I was shocked when this single came out so early after winning American Idol but I don’t think she could make this song any better if she spent more time on it. Jordin Sparks has such a wide range of vocals. She sure does show her talent in “Tattoo.” The song is about that a guy will always be in her heart just like a tattoo. Because tattoos are permanent. This is a pop song, I always expected her to sing pop. But who knows? She could switch to anything she wants because her voice is that excellent. For only seventeen she sings like she has been singing for fifty years. She did amazing on this song for it being her first real song.

“Ocean Avenue” by Yellowcard is one of the best songs I have ever heard! It so relates to teens because it says “ Sleeping all day, staying up all night.” teenagers totally do that! They stay up all night and than sleep all day. I also love the percussion part. The drummer’s part in “Ocean Avenue” really makes the song. It keeps the beat and keeps everything up beat and on beat. I also love this song because it is never gets old. It is hard to find a song that you could listen to a thousand times and still not get tired of it or bored. It is an alternative song but I think it could also be a rock song. If you havent heard this song than you are really missing out. It is AWESOME! One of my favorite songs of all time!

Hey, Hey! You, You! Avril Lavigne’s single of her latest album was the hit “Girlfriend.” the song is about Avril liking a boy but he has a girlfriend that is “So stupid” and Avril wants him to choose her over his girlfriend. In the music video she plays his girlfriend and herself trying to be his girlfreind. It is a playful video of her picking on the girlfriend with the boy such as hitting her in the head with a golf ball then the girlfriend falling into the little pond of water. How many times did I just say “Girlfriend?” I guess that explains the song’s name. would her husband Derek approve? Ha-ha. It is an up beat, fun, song and it shows the younger side of Avril Lavigne. I enjoy listening to it.

“Hero/ Heroine” by Boys Like Girls is their best song. It should have been their single released instead of The Great Escape. Not that I don’t like The Great Escape but this song blows it out of the water. It is high pitched and the singer Martin Johnson is amazing at holding the high notes. I try to sing this song and I cant even go that high! There is a part in the song where they sort of stops the song and than it comes back suddenly and he is singing the chorus again. That is my favorite part. It really “Caught me off guard.” My second favorite part is at the REAL ending and his voice is over lapping another voice. They are both singing the chorus but at different parts. I would usually think that sounds bad because it would be too much, but it actually sounds awesome. I love this song, it’s great!

Chris Brown sings one of the sweetest song called “With You”. I love when he says “Cause if I got you, I don’t need money, I don’t need cars. Girl you’re my heart.” How romantic! I wish he was saying it to me but who doesn’t wish he was saying it to them. This is one of the better slow songs he has done. This song may be better than his last greatest slow song “Say Goodbye” they are both really awesome songs. This song is R&B/ Soul. He does a wonderful job going from Hip-hop/rap artist to a R&B/ Soul artist.

Although I didn’t like “Umbrella” by Rihanna I really do like “Hate That I Love You” by her featuring Ne-Yo. I like it because she actually sings in it and she doesn’t do any of that “eh eh eh” stuff. I also think that Ne-Yo does an awesome part in it. I read somewhere that this wasn’t actually going to be a song they were just messing around and than it came out to be that. Ne-Yo is a great song writer. I think this song is so cute. I don’t think I will get tired of it, like I did with “Umbrella.”

“What I’ve Done” by Linkin Park is an excellent rock song. I love the beginning with the piano. It is all simple with the piano and then they add more and more instruments till you can’t hear the piano anymore. I love how the singer (Chester Bennington) is almost yelling to get some attention or difference in his voice but he still controls his voice and stays in tune. And it isn’t just like heavy rock or over done where you cant understand what the singer is saying.
