 Dear diary, February 17, 2008

            Friday I went to my friend Savannah’s party. It was a lot o fun. About fifty people were there. Everyone was just hanging out and having fun. There was a big dance off. I recorded it on my phone. There was a pool table so everyone was taking turns plaing pool. When it as my turn I didn’t do so well. Brett and Cameron kept hitting my stick to mess me up. Sometimes I do well at pool but sometimes I am really awful! It was a fun party. I want my party to be like that. Just have a bunch of people hanging out. That would be fun but my parents don’t like house parties.

            Yesterday I went to my friend Zoraya’s quince. She didn’t invite a ton of people like Savannah did. Only like seven or eight people but about a hundred people were there. She has a huge family. When I first got there with my friend Ana the pastor was talking. He was talking in Spanish so Ana had to translate for me. The pastor was saying “even though you are grown up, you still have to listen to your parents. You can’t party any time you want and stay young. Don’t go get pregnant and turn into a mother because you’re not ready for that.” And this pregnant young woman stood up and left. It was funny. I am so soar today because we were dancing a ton. I was excited the whole night for the dancers to come out because I wanted to see what I would be doing. Finally they did. The dances were sort of boring. They did four or five dances and they were just stepping side to side and then Zoraya was in the middle and she did some turns. But It wasn’t like a big twirly waltz. And then everyone else went back to the dance floor. Since quinces are for Hispanic people, 90% of the songs were in Spanish. I had no idea what the songs were but it was still fun. I had a great time.

            My sister and I were thinking that we were going to have our birthday parties at the Renaissance Festival. I think that would be a lot of fun but I would only be able to invite up to 15 people. That wouldn’t be a bad amount of people it is just that I want to invite a lot more people and do something like Savannah did. Having a party at the Renaissance Festival would be different than any other parties. The reason why it would be with my sister is because the Renaissance people only stay in town for about a month and a half. My sister’s birthday isn’t till the end of April but if we were going to rent a 15 person van we would split the cost and go at the same time. The only thing is I wanted it closer to my birthday and my sister wants it closer to her birthday. She wants it in the middle of March but my birthday was at the beginning of February. Ohh well I guess that would be okay. I am excited to just have a party though.
