Diary Of A Mad Black Women
Diary Of A Mad Black Women has got to be the funniest movie I have ever seen. I was constantly crackin’ up. It is a really long movie but I still watch it every other night just get a good laugh.
It is about a women named Helen McCarter (Kimberly Elise) , who was married to a rich lawyer named Charles McCarter (Steve Harris). Until on their 18th anniversary, he hires a man and rents a truck to take her where ever she needs to go but she has to get out his house. She doesn’t have a job so it is his house. The only place for Helen to go is to her Grandma Madea’s (Tyler Perry) house.
Madea allows Helen to stay the night but in the morning she wonders why Helen is there instead at her own house. Helen tells her that her and Charles are getting a divorce. But Madea still wonders why she is at her house instead at Helen’s house. She thinks half of everything in the house is hers. So Madea drags Helen to Charles and Helen’s house to “pick up a few things.” They brake in but Charles and his girlfriend Brenda (Tamara Taylor) interrupt them taking some money and ripping up Brenda’s clothes! And that ends up with Madea, who doesn’t take lip from anyone, sawing everything in the house including lamps, couches, pianos, in half. Half for Helen, half for Charles. That is one of the funniest parts.
Madea has a big family get-together at her house and Helen’s cousin, Bryan (Tyler Perry), brings one of his friends named Orlando (Shemar Moore). Orlanda just happens to be the guy Charles hired to take Helen anywhere she wanted after he threw her out of the house. Orlando likes Helen right away and asked her out on a date, Helen isn’t ready but Orlando convinces her to say yes. They dated every night since their first date and Orlando told Helen that he loved her. Helen was scared to say it back because she didn’t want to say something she later regretted. I like one of the lines that Helen says, it goes something like she should thank Charles because if wasn’t for him being such a bad man she wouldn’t know what one felt like. Orlando is really sweet to her and is so romantic.
After Charles and Helen’s divorce is final Orlando tries to propose to Helen but is interrupted by the TV. Charles was shot by one of his clients after losing his case. Helen still cares for Charles and rushes to the hospital to take care of him. Charles’ gold digger, I mean girlfriend takes off with all his money when she finds out Charles probably won’t be able to walk again. Helen stays with him like the doctors order but she is so full of rage that she is beats the HECK out of Charles. That is the only part I don’t like about the movie. She yells at him and is so rude to him. She stops after he apologizes for everything he did to her. He begins to respect her and actually loves her now because she isn’t timid anymore she is fierce. After a few months Charles is getting better and is walking with a cane on his own.
Orlando hasn’t seen or spoke to Helen in a while and gets kind of nervous. At first she is hesitate because Charles is being sweet to her again but she ultimately misses Orlando and goes back to him and says “YES” she will marry him. I am so glad because he is the sweetest man ever in this movie!
This movie is not only romantic but hilarious. Sometimes I skip all the romantic parts and just go to the funny parts. Tyler Perry does an amazing job being a women and writing this movie. Some movies never get old and this is one of them! If you haven’t seen it, go to a movie rental store right now and watch it! If you like comedies, you will love this movie!
