It’s high school, BABY!

Dear diary, August 16, 2008

This week has been so hectic. It was my first week of high school. I know, right? Scary. I was totally freaking out before hand but you know once I was there I was cool. I was mostly nervous that I was going to be late to class because my new school has a policy that if you are late to class then you get kicked out and you miss it. It is not good to miss any school because it is hard to catch up.

Well my first hour is Pilates. So far we have dressed out only two days and I am already sore. My stomach and thighs are aching. It is a hard class. And I hate that I have it first hour because I sweat like a

Thursday we ran 3 ½ minutes in the gym then we stretched and then we went outside and ran three laps up the ramp, across the building, then down the ramp and around again. It was the size of a medium sized building. And we had to jog it. Then we went back into the gym and did a bunch of squats. And then of course we went outside and ran up the ramp, across the building, down the ramp and around a big building. We did that twice and then we went back into the locker rooms to get dressed for our next class.

Friday was the hard day for me. I mean I hate running but when you get down on a mat and working our whole body as much as possible is tough. We were mainly working our core so my stomach is pretty tired for holding a crunch for an hour. I know this class is going to get harder and harder but I want to take it so that I can get into shape to try out for softball next semester.

My second hour is English. I love this class so far. My teacher is also the drama teacher so she is pretty enthusiastic and fun. I love this class because I am not friends with one single girl in there. I mean that sounds bad but it is just me and a bunch of my guy friends so there is no drama. I doubt I will make any girl friends in there because I will be with the guys the whole time and girls do not like that. But I don’t care.

My third hour is Spanish III. I am so nervous about this class. I already asked my parents to help me study every night because I am bad at Spanish. I do not want to do bad in this class. I really want to be bilingual but I am awful at speaking and understanding and those are the most important things you need to know! My teacher seems like he is willing to slow down for people who are having a hard time, so that is good.

My forth hour is study hall. I took this class because of how hard Spanish III is going to be. I wanted an hour in the day to be able to study and work on homework. This is the class I have already made a friend in. Her name is Kym. She is pretty cool and funny. Study hall has been pretty fun so far.

My fifth hour is Geometry. I didn’t do so well in Algebra last year, so I hope I will do good in geometry. My teacher is super funny. He made me crack up on Wednesday and Friday. He was telling us stories because we are already ahead of his other geometry classes. He wants them to be at the same pace so he was wasting some time. He is cool and it seems like an easy class.

My sixth hour is Biology. So far I do not care for it. I mean I like the people who are in it, but I do not like my teacher. She acts like she owns us and can keep us after the bell. Gosh, my last sixth hour teacher did that to us and I hated her the whole year. This teacher like the exact same way.

So far I am liking school. No serious homework yet, so everything is going smoothly. I think I will make lots of friends and have a fun year! Which is what I was hoping for.

Love,
Tayler!
