Pedestal - Fergie lyrics

Posted on April 14th, 2008 in Fergie, Song of the Day by Tatertot

FergieThe best song on Fergie’s c.d. Dutchess is “Pedestal”. It is one of the coolest songs I have ever heard. I love the beat. It is kind of snappy! When I first heard it I thought the little child’s voice was annoying so I wouldn’t listen to the whole song. But then I finally did and it is my favorite song by her. Not only is it my favorite song by her but even when she was in Black Eyed Peas, it is better than all those songs. I love the lyrics in the chorus and how she pronounces it. The only thing I don’t like about the song is she says “you think I don’t see you on the internet” and you can hear typing in the back ground. But it is very brief and since I haven’t heard it without the typing, I don’t know which I would like better with or without the typing. I don’t usually listen to all the many things going in the song but there really is a lot of parts in song. At parts flutes come it and add a little rhythm. Then another instrument comes in and adds something, but you don’t really hear it if you are singing and jamming out to the song. I learned how to listen to the many parts in a song from band. And now that I have started to really listen to the songs I like them all the more. The little child’s voice (that I used to think was annoying) in the beginning of this song is singing “The Pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down….” just like “Your London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down….”. She also has a song called “London Bridge” on this c.d. so I am thinking she kind of likes London Bridges. But it is an awesome song!
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Pedestal”:

Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down
Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down, da da da da da da

[Verse 1:]
Record sales are on the mark
Cuz thats about the time the rumors start
Where all the people talking out their ass
Well, someone gotta school ya cause ya got no class
Well I’ve paid my dues
I’m a seasoned dame
So why you gotta throw salt in my game
You hide behind the computer screens so that you dont have to be seen
How could a person be so mean

[chorus:]
Who are you-and what do you do
To make you think you are above me
But have you walked in my shoes
The pedestal
You put yourself on
Well since I’m breaking it down now
It’s gonna collapse and be gone-gone-gone-gone-gone

[verse 2]
Probably one of them tag a longs down 4 the free t-shirt
Cuz you’re a hanger on
You think you got my figured out
Never met me have no clue what I’m about
Maybe I got things you wish you had
You need to stop the hate and get a pen and pad
I work around the clock, so fill your smoth up with a sock
And get you head up off your jock
Tell me who you are and what your background is
Tell me how you’re feelin’ when you listen to this

[chorus]

[Bridge:]
Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down
Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down, dum dum dum dum
Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down
Your pedestal is falling down, falling down, falling down, da da da da da da
Tell me who you are and what your background is
Tell me how you’re feelin’ when you listen to this
You think I dont see you on the internet, I read it, dont think I wont forget

[chorus x2]

Where Is The Love- Black Eyed Peas

Posted on March 13th, 2008 in Fergie, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Black Eyed PeasWow! I just heard one of the best songs I have ever heard. It’s called “Where Is The Love” by Black Eyed Peas. I can’t get over it. It literally almost made me cry. It is an old song but I only heard it a few days ago. This has got to be the best song by Black Eyed Peas. And the most meaningful. Fergie doesn’t do much singing in it but I kind of like it that way. The beat is perfect, it just makes you nod your head as you listen to the lyrics. My favorite is the beginning, when Taboo does his rapping. I can’t explain how much I like this song, you’ll just have to listen to it.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Where Is The Love”:

What’s wrong with the world mama?
People living like aint got no mamas
I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you’re bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that’s exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y’all

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the love2x)

It just ain’t the same all ways have changed
New days are strange is the world the insane?
If love and peace so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don’t belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering
As the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really strong?
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
With this world that we living in
People keep on giving in
Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and
Not respecting each other
Deny thy brother
The wars’ going on but the reasons’ undercover
The truth is kept secret
Swept under the rug
If you never know truth
Then you never know love
Where’s the love y’all?(I don’t know)
Where’s the truth y’all?(I don’t know)
Where’s the love y’all?

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father father father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the lovex2)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I’m getting older y’all people get colder
Most of us only care about money makin
Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we’re spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feeling under
That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feeling down
It’s no wonder why sometimes I’m feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(fade)

My Humps- Black Eyed Peas

Posted on March 3rd, 2008 in Fergie, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Black Eyed PeasI think that the most popular song that everyone listened, when I was in the seventh grade was “My Humps” by Black Eyed Peas. I loved this song so much. I still like it but I don’t listen to it as much because when I bought there c.d. they did the dumbest thing by adding a piano part at the end. The piano part is slow, so you have this up-beat song and than a slow part at the ending. With the Will.I.Am singing “So real”. My favorite part is when Fergie says “ so don’t pull on my hand boy, you ain’t my man boy,” I love it! This is a good song even though I don’t like the music video nor the ending. The music video is stupid.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “My Humps”:

What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside your trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get, you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my lovely little lumps (Check it out)

I drive these brothers crazy,
I do it on the daily,
They treat me really nicely,
They buy me all these ices.
Dolce & Gabbana,
Fendi and NaDonna
Karan, they be sharin’
All their money got me wearin’ fly
Brother I ain’t askin,
They say they love my ass ‘n,
Seven Jeans, True Religion’s,
I say no, but they keep givin’
So I keep on takin’
And no I ain’t taken
We can keep on datin’
I keep on demonstrating.

My love (love), my love, my love, my love (love)
You love my lady lumps (love),
My hump, my hump, my hump (love),
My humps they got you,

She’s got me spending.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me and spending time on me.
She’s got me spendin’.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me, up on me, on me

What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside that trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get, you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
What you gon’ do with all that ass?
All that ass inside them jeans?
I’m a make, make, make, make you scream
Make you scream, make you scream.
Cos of my hump (ha), my hump, my hump, my hump (what).
My hump, my hump, my hump (ha), my lovely lady lumps (Check it out)

I met a girl down at the disco.
She said hey, hey, hey yea let’s go.
I could be your baby, you can be my honey
Let’s spend time not money.
I mix your milk wit my cocoa puff,
Milky, milky cocoa,
Mix your milk with my cocoa puff, milky, milky riiiiiiight.

They say I’m really sexy,
The boys they wanna sex me.
They always standing next to me,
Always dancing next to me,
Tryin’ a feel my hump, hump.
Lookin’ at my lump, lump.
You can look but you can’t touch it,
If you touch it I’ma start some drama,
You don’t want no drama,
No, no drama, no, no, no, no drama
So don’t pull on my hand boy,
You ain’t my man, boy,
I’m just tryn’a dance boy,
And move my hump.

My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump,
My hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump, my hump.
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)
My lovely lady lumps (lumps)
In the back and in the front (lumps)
My lovin’ got you,

She’s got me spendin’.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me and spending time on me.
She’s got me spendin’.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me, up on me, on me.

What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside that trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get you drunk,
Get you love drunk off my hump.
What you gon’ do with all that ass?
All that ass inside them jeans?
I’ma make, make, make, make you scream
Make you scream, make you scream.
What you gon’ do with all that junk?
All that junk inside that trunk?
I’ma get, get, get, get you drunk,
Get you love drunk off this hump.
What you gon’ do wit all that breast?
All that breast inside that shirt?
I’ma make, make, make, make you work
Make you work, work, make you work.

(A-ha, a-ha, a-ha, a-ha) [x4]

She’s got me spendin’.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me and spendin’ time on me
She’s got me spendin’.
(Oh) Spendin’ all your money on me, up on me, on me.

[Will.i.am]
So real [x17]

Big Girls Don’t Cry- Fergie

Posted on February 16th, 2008 in Fergie, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Fergie Fergie really does have an amazing voice. The song “Big Girls Don’t Cry” proves that. The first couple times I heard it, on the radio, I had no clue who was singing. I had never heard this type of singing down by Fergie. Its amazing. I had heard pop and hip-hop but who knew she could actually brake it down and sing a slow song. This song is really pretty. I love when she says “it’s personal.” It sounds cool. I respect her more as an artist now because of this song.Love,

Tayler!

Here are the yrics for “Big Girls Don’t Cry”:

La Da Da Da Da
The smell of your skin lingers on me now
You’re probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself and Center, Clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS:]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It’s personal, myself and I
We’ve got some straightening out to do
And I’m gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I’ve got to get a move on with my life
It’s time to be a big girl now
And big girls don’t cry
Don’t cry
Don’t cry
Don’t cry

The path that I’m walking
I must go alone
I must take the baby steps ’til I’m full grown, full grown
Fairytales don’t always have a happy ending, do they?
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

[CHORUS:]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It’s personal, myself and I
We’ve got some straightening out to do
[Big Girls Don't Cry lyrics on http://www.metrolyrics.com]

And I’m gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I’ve got to get a move on with my life
It’s time to be a big girl now
And big girls don’t cry

Like the little school mate in the school yard
We’ll play jacks and UNO cards
I’ll be your best friend and you’ll be mine Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if you want to
‘Cause I want to hold yours too
We’ll be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But it’s time for me to go home
It’s getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself and Center, Clarity
Peace, Serenity

[CHORUS]
I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It’s personal, myself and I
We’ve got some straightening out to do
And I’m gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I’ve got to get a move on with my life
It’s time to be a big girl now
And big girls don’t cry
Don’t cry
Don’t cry
Don’t cry

La Da Da Da Da Da

Clumsy- Fergie

Posted on January 16th, 2008 in Fergie, Song of the Day by Tatertot

FergieMy favorite song on Fergie’s solo album is “Clumsy”. it is about her falling in love with a guy and her tripping all over herself when she sees him. It is saying she is so in love with this guy but at the same time she says it has happened to her before and than “the love bug crawls right back and bites me, and I’m back.” It is interesting because it has a steady beat and at one point someone is in the back ground singing “Girl can’t help it”. I like this song.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Clumsy”:

Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it

First time
That I saw your eyes
Boy you looked right through me, mmm mmm
Play it cool
But I knew you knew
That cupid hit me, mmm mmm

You got me trippin oh, stumbling oh, flippin oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
You got me slippin oh, tumbling oh, sinking oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
So in love with you

Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it

Can’t breath
When you touch my sleeve,
Butterflies so crazy, mmm mmm
Whoa now, think I’m goin down
Friends don’t know whats with me, mmm mmm

You got me trippin oh, stumbling oh, flippin oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
You got me slippin oh, tumbling oh, sinking oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
So in love with you

You got me trippin oh, stumbling oh, flippin oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
You got me slippin oh, tumbling oh, sinking oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
So in love with you

Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
So in love with you

You know, this isn’t the first time this has happened to me
This love sick thing
I like serious relationships and a
A girl like me dont stay single for long
Cuz everytime a boyfriend and I break up
My world is crushed and I’m all alone
The love bug crawls right back up and bites me and I’m back

Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it

Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it
The girl can’t help it oh baby
Can’t help it

You got me trippin oh, stumbling oh, flippin oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
You got me slippin oh, tumbling oh, sinking oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
So in love with you

Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love
You got me slippin oh, tumbling oh, sinking oh, fumbling oh
Clumsy cuz I’m fallin in love, in love

So in love with you
So in love with you
So in love with you

Fergie

Posted on August 25th, 2007 in Fergie, bands/ artists by Tatertot

fergieFergie was a part of a band called The Black Eyed Peas. But since then she has made a c.d. solo called “Dutchess” and this girl has proven that she can sing. I mean on this c.d. she does so many different types of singing. She sings some songs such as “Fergalicious” or “London Bridge” where she is rapping and singing hip-hop. And there is a song “Big Girls Don’t Cry” that is slow and powerful. I did not realize that she was such a great artist untill I heard “Big Girls Don’t Cry” I didn’t even know it was her singing untill I bought the c.d. I only thought that she could hip-hop from Black Eyed Peas but no she has a voice and it is really good. She even sings a few songs with her old Black Eyed Peas member Will.I.am. As much as I like both Black Eyed Peas and Fergie, I hope remains going solo because she is doing well. But I also hope that she takes a break to make a c.d. with the Black Eyed Peas. Because I would like to listen to both of them, she makes good music with a band and by herself.

Love,

Tayler!

Black Eyed Peas

Posted on August 25th, 2007 in Fergie, bands/ artists by Tatertot

Black Eyed PeasBlack Eyed Peas, is a hip-hop/ rap band. It is three guys and one chick. This was the band that got me really into hip-hop and rap. I heard the song “shut-up” and I thought it was really good and funny. It also made me feel like dancing. They have a really up beat and unique sound. Kind of techno but not techno. The female singer form this band is an excellent singer, her name is Fergie. She went solo and I also bought her c.d. they just have great music. I don’t like all of their songs, but I do love most of them. I have had their c.d. “Monkey business” for about three and a half years now and I still enjoy listening to there songs. They never get old. I like listening to each of the guys and trying to figure out which one is singing at that moment. The Black Eyed Peas is a great band. I am not sure if they are still together because Fergie went solo but I sure hope they are still making music together because they are fun to listen to.

Love,

Tayler!
