Mad Season - Matchbox 20 lyrics

Posted on April 28th, 2008 in Matchbox 20, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Matchbox 20I love the song “Mad Season” by Matchbox 20. Me and my mom can jam out to this song for hours! I like when he says “I feel stupid.” and “I feel ugly, but I know I still turn you on”. Rob Thomas is just an amazing singer. I think this music video is crazy! Matchbox 20 is getting off a plane and a lot of fans are waiting for them. And these fans go crazy! Seriously! The are hurting the band. The police are trying to get them away but there are a lot more fans than police so it is hard. Then when the finally get in the limo the fans ATTACK the limo! It was weird because all of a sudden the police and fans start dancing in the middle of the craziness. I wonder if people are really like that? Just to get near a band or artist? Probably. I mean people were getting stampeded by other people just to get near Matchbox 20. That’s MAD! Ha-ha. I saw them in concert once but I wasn’t getting stampeded because people are going nuts. Thank goodness because I was just a kid. Nevertheless, I like this song, it is a awesome song! Probably one of their best songs! Yep, I would have tot say it is one of their best.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Mad Season”:

I feel stupid - but I know it won’t last for long
I’ve been guessing - and I coulda been guessin’ wrong
You don’t know me now
I kinda thought that you should somehow
Does that whole mad season got ya down?

Well I feel stupid, but it’s something that comes and goes
I’ve been changin’ - I think it’s funny how no one knows
We don’t talk about the little things that we do without
When that whole mad season comes around

So why you gotta stand there
Looking like the answer now?
It seems to me you’d come around
I need you now
Do you think you can cope?
You figured me out - that I’m lost and I’m hopeless
I’m bleeding and broken, though I’ve never spoken
I come undone in this mad season

I feel stupid, but I think I been catchin’ on
I feel ugly, but I know I still turn you on
You’ve grown colder now, torn apart, angry, turned around
Will that whole mad season knock you down?

So are you gonna stand there
Are you gonna help me out?
We need to be together now
I need you now
Do you think you can cope?
You figured me out - that I’m lost and I’m hopeless
I’m bleeding and broken, though I’ve never spoken
I come undone in this mad season

And now I’m cryin’
Isn’t that what you want?
And I’m tryin’ to live my life on my own
But I won’t, no,
At times I do believe I am strong
So someone tell me why, why, why
Do I, I, I feel stupid
And I come undone
And I come undone

I need you now
Do you think you can cope?
You figured me out - that I’m lost and I’m hopeless
I’m bleeding and broken though I’ve never spoken

Well I need you now
Do you think you can cope?
You figured me out - I’m a child and I’m hopeless
I’m bleeding and broken though I’ve never spoken
I come undone
I come undone in this mad season

In this mad season
It’s been a mad season
Been a mad season

Lyrics for Real World- Matchbox 20

Posted on March 25th, 2008 in Matchbox 20, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Matchbox 20When I was little my parents always played Matchbox 20 for us in the car, I didn’t really have a preference in music back then so I listened to whatever my parents listened to. I always wanted to listen to the song “Real World” by Matchbox 20 but I didn’t know what the song was called so I would say “play the superman song, play the superman song” they didn’t know what I was talking about because he only says superman like once in the entire song. I always knew it as the superman song until I started listening to it on my own. This song has always been my favorite of Matchbox 20’s songs. They just made a c.d. that was half new songs and half greatest hit songs and this is one of the songs that was a greatest hit. This song is one of the best songs ever. I love it!
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Real World”:

I wonder what it’s like to be the rainmaker
I wonder what it’s like to know that I make the rain
I’d store it in boxes with little yellow tags on everyone
And you can come see them when I’m…done, when I’m
Done
I wonder what it’s like to be a super hero
I wonder where I’d go if I could fly around downtown
From some other planet, I get this funky high on yellow
Sun
Boy I bet my friends will all be…stunned, they’re stunned

[chorus]
Straight up, what did you hope to learn about here
If I were someone else, would this all fall apart
Strange, where were you, when we started this gig,
I wish the real world, would just stop hassling me

I wonder what it’s like to be the head honcho
I wonder what I’d do if they all did just what I said
I’d shout out an order, I think we’re out of this man get
me some
Boy don’t make me wanna change my…tone, my tone

[chorus]

Please don’t change, please don’t break
The only thing that seems to work at all is you
Please don’t change, at all from me
To you, and you to me

[chorus]

Smooth- Santana featuring Rob Thomas

Posted on February 25th, 2008 in Matchbox 20, Song of the Day by Tatertot

SantanaRob ThomasMy mom’s favorite song is “Smooth” by Santana featuring Rob Thomas. She absolutely loves Rob Thomas. I like this song also. What my really likes about him, besides his looks, is the way he pronounces his words. I don’t know what it is but he has a certain appeal in the way he sings the lyrics. Santana doesn’t sing in this song but he does do an amazing guitar solo. He is the best guitarist I have ever heard. My mom told me that Rob Thomas actually met his wife doing the music video for this song. She is one of the dancers I guess. I like the Spanish vibe to this song. One of the lines is “I could change my life to better suit your mood”. if a guy does that just to change your mood, you are pretty special! Oh.. And I know this song is not by Matchbox 20 but it is sang by Rob Thomas so I thought I would put it in this folder.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics for “Smooth”:

Man it’s a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
I hear you whispering the words that melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My mon-equita, my Spanish Harlem Mona Lisa
You’re my reason for reason
The step in my groove

And if you said this life ain’t good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
Cause you’re so smooth

And just like the ocean under the moon
Well it’s the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin that can be so smooth
Give me your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it

I’ll tell you one thing
If you would leave it would be a crying shame
In every breath and every word I hear your name callin’ me out, yeah
Out from the barrio, you hear my rhythm from your radio
You feel the turning of the world so soft and slow
Turning you round and round

BRIDGE:
And if you said this life ain’t good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
‘Cause your so smooth

CHORUS:
And it’s just like the ocean under the moon
Well it’s the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kinda lovin’ that can be so smooth, yeah
Give me your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it

(guitar solo)

CHORUS:
And it’s just like the ocean under the moon
Well, that’s the same emotion that I get from you
You got the kinda lovin’ that can be so smooth, yeah
Gimmie your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it

Or else forget about it…
Or else forget about it…
Or else go and forget about it…
Gimmie your heart, make it real
Or else forget about it, oh oh now let’s go and forget about it…
Or else forget about it, oh oh now let’s go and forget about it…
Now now now, let’s go and forget about it…

How Far We’ve Come- Matchbox 20

Posted on January 4th, 2008 in Matchbox 20, Song of the Day by Tatertot

Matchbox 20My favorite song on Matchbox 20’s latest c.d. is “How Far We’ve Come” I like how it just starts out with a the percussion. Than BAM Rob Thomas starts singing and the guitar comes in. It is truly impossible for Matchbox 20 to make a bad song. I mean their last c.d. was even a greatest hits c.d. I don’t think they are old enough to have a greatest hits c.d. but all their songs are great.
Love,
Tayler!

Here are the lyrics to “How Far We’ve Come”:

Waking up at the start of the end of the world,
But its feeling just like every morning before,
Now I wonder what my life is going to mean if its gone,
The cars are moving like a half a mile an hour if that
I started staring at the passengers waving goodbye
Can you tell me what was ever really special about me all this time

[chorus]
But I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Well I, believe, its all, coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

I think its turning to a crock but I don’t really know
I can’t remember caring for an hour or so
Started crying and I couldn’t stop myself
I started running but there was no where to run to
I sat down on the street and took a look at myself
Said where you going you know the world is heading for hell
Say your goodbyes if you’ve got someone you can say goodbye to

[chorus]
I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Well I, believe, its all, coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Its gone gone baby its all gone
There is no one on the corner and there’s no one at home
It was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it’s over for me and it’s over for you
Well its gone gone baby its all gone
There is no one on the corner and there’s no one at home
Well it was cool cool, it was just all cool
Now it’s over for me and it’s over for you

[chorus]
But I believe the world is burning to the ground
Oh well I guess we’re gonna find out
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Well I, believe, its all, coming to an end
Oh well, I guess, we’re gonna pretend,
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come
Let’s see how far we’ve come

Matchbox 20

Posted on November 11th, 2007 in Matchbox 20, bands/ artists by Tatertot

Matchbox 20My family does not agree on music at all. If I like a song my sister doesn’t. If my mom likes a song, I don’t like it. If my dad likes a song, my mom doesn’t. If my sister likes a song…. None of us like it. Ha-ha. Just kidding/ But one band called Matchbox 20 we all love! My parents used to play them in the car while driving to New Mexico. They were the first real band my sister and I listened to. My mom and my dad both like them so that equals that we all like them. They are truly a wonderful band, every song of theirs is a good song. There are not many bands that you find that every single one of their songs is a good song. My favorite song of theirs is “Real World” my mom loves the singer Rob Thomas. He’s pretty cute. Matchbox 20 is a rock and alternative band. They have four albums out. Their last one just came out about a month ago. The last albums was called Exile on mainstream, it was actually a greatest hits album with only six new songs. I thought that was weird because they aren’t an old enough band to have a greatest hits album. I don’t think they had time to come up with a whole album because the singer Rob Thomas went solo for a while. One of my favorite songs by them is on the newest album, it is called “Look How Far We’ve Come” it is different than their other songs. This song rates number nine on Top Songs on itunes. That basically means a lot of people have bought it. I think people have bought it because it was the single they let out early and a lot of people heard that song first. Matchbox 20 is a really awesome band. If you don’t like than your crazy.

Love,

Tayler!
